What could be more horrifying or deadlier than home invasion, especially if it involves murder? There is news of home invasion murders almost every day and all these are very difficult to track.
If it is just home invasion, then it would include all crimes including battery, burglary, robbery, assault, rape and murder. According to the data gathered by the Statistics USA and FBI –
These are alarming statistics. It has also been observed that insecure homes (or homes without sufficient security devices) are targeted by criminals. The criminals seem to be aware that even if the house has a security alarm, most homeowners do not activate it till it is bedtime. This means, that any time before bedtime is the perfect time for invasion, which results in home invasion murders.

A home invader is usually bold faced and carries weapons, which leaves the family at the mercy of the invader. If the demands of the invader, such as handing over valuables, cash and others are not met with, the result is murder.
The intruder usually enters through the front door, which is easy if there is no security alarm or if the alarm is deactivated. Although many home invaders may kick the door open, others may just knock the door or ring the bell. Well, of course, who would expect the intruder to come knocking like an evening guest?
According to available statistics, intruders also pose as milkmen, maintenance workers or even police officers to get the homeowners to open the door. Some may pretend to have a broken car and ask for lift.
