Pet-Immune Motion Detectors
No system is complete unless it is equipped with a passive infrared motion detector. A passive infrared motion detector (PIR) is an electronic security device that detects intruders by sensing motion or body heat in the area being protected. Most motion detectors are designed to be used when your family is away from home or when no one will be passing through the area covered by the sensor.
In case you are thinking, “I have a dog; does that mean I can’t have a motion detector?”
Recent innovations in security technology have resulted in the creation of what is known as the “Pet Immune” motion detector, allowing dog and cat owners to enjoy the same level of protection they would receive with a standard motion detector. The state of the art sensors provide “pet immunity” for animals weighing up to 40 lbs. and special versions allow even up to 100Lbs. Pet immune motion sensors allow your pet to move about freely but can still detect an intruder’s movement.
